LED light bulbs cost $40 a light bulb and last for years. They have no mercury in them. CFL’s are $3 each and last for years as well. CFL’s are still recommended over the traditional light bulb. Yes it contains mercury, so dispose of them carefully. Check your city and they will tell you how.

NEST is a private company based in Hyderabad, India, which was set up to develop a very small solar lantern, the ‘Aishwarya®’, as a safe substitute for the kerosene wick lamp. Over 65,000 lanterns have been produced and distributed during the past five years.
It is estimated that in India alone, about 100 million households use kerosene wick lamps as their main source of light. Such lamps produce poor quality light and unhealthy fumes, and present a serious fire risk particularly when used in thatched homes. Fluorescent lamps with batteries recharged using solar photovoltaics (PV), can provide much better quality and safer light, but the cost of such a lantern can be prohibitive.
NEST have brought down this cost, by making a PV lantern which is small and light-weight, with strict attention to quality of manufacture. By working closely with a network of dealers and sub-dealers, through whom they provide credit, spares and support, they have enabled very poor people in the most remote villages to buy PV lanterns without subsidies. Over 75% of the Aishwarya lanterns produced by NEST have been sold in this way, throughout the states of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The Ashden judges commended NEST for developing an attractive and high-quality lantern specifically for the poorest households, and setting up a financial and service structure which enables such households to purchase without subsidy and receive proper after-sales support. These achievements were made possible by effective management within NEST and their active links with subcontractors and their dealership network.

Solar Energy; Secret of all of those millions of little Engines
Even back in 1938 they were dreaming of a clean and unlimited source of energy. Now in 2008, it’s finally time for us to become independent of foreign oil. If we want to do it sooner rather than later, it’s going to require some compromise from all sides. If we don’t compromise and get started now, then ten years from now, we will have no one to blame but our selves for the economic and environmental damage that will have taken place. So just pick a reason, whether its economic security, national security, global warming, or a concern for our environment, pick one, two, three, or all of the above, or maybe you have a different reason, it doesn’t matter as long as we all have the same goal of being energy independent.

What Is Solar Energy?
Solar energy is radiant energy that is produced by the sun. Every day the sun radiates, or sends out, an enormous amount of energy. The sun radiates more energy in one second than people have
used since the beginning of time!
History of Solar Energy
People have harnessed solar energy for centuries. As early as the 7th century B.C., people used simple magnifying glasses to concentrate the light of the sun into beams so hot they would
cause wood to catch fire. More than 100 years ago in France, a scientist used heat from a solar collector to make steam to drive a steam engine. In the
beginning of this century, scientists and engineers began researching ways to use solar energy in earnest. One important development was a remarkably efficient solar boiler invented by
Charles Greeley Abbott, an American astrophysicist, in 1936. The solar water heater gained popularity at this time in Florida, California, and the Southwest. The industry started in the early 1920s and was in full swing just before World War II. This growth lasted until the mid-1950s when low-cost natural gas became the primary fuel for heating American homes. The public and world governments remained largely indifferent
to the possibilities of solar energy until the oil shortages of the 1970s. Today, people use solar energy to heat buildings and water and to generate electricity.
Photovoltaic Cells
Photovoltaic comes from the words photo meaning light and volt, a measurement of electricity. Sometimes photovoltaic cells are called PVcells or solar cells for short. You are probably already
familiar with solar cells. Solar-powered calculators, toys, and telephone call boxes all use solar cells to convert light into electricity.
Solar Energy and the Environment
Using solar energy produces no air or water pollution, and it is a free and widely available energy source. Manufacturing the photovoltaic cells to harness that energy, however, consumes
silicon and produces some waste products. In addition, large solar thermal farms can harm desert ecosystems if not properly managed. Most people agree, however, that solar energy, if it
can be harnessed economically, is one of the most viable energy sources for the future.

Solar powered “Death Ray”

About the Solar Death Ray:
The Solar Death Ray is made of 112 mirrors mounted on a platform 4 feet
wide and 6 feet tall. Each mirror is a square roughly 3.5 inches on edge. All
these mirrors focus the sun to a single spot 5 feet, 6 inches from the mirror
platform. A wooden fork extends from the mirror base to the area near the
focus and serves as a mounting point for Solar Death Ray targets. The
mirror platform is mounted to the support frame on a pivot that allows the
platform to be angled. The whole system is mounted on a set of wheels.
Some Science:
The Solar Death Ray works by reflecting the light of the sun from 112
mirrors onto a single spot. Anything in the spot (the target) starts to get
hot. The target will continue to get hot until it reaches an equilibrium
temperature. When the equilibrium temperature is reached, the object is
reemitting as much light as it is absorbing. The re-emitted light is infrared
light, not the visible light from the sun. The infrared light is emitted simply
because the target is hot. The hotter the target, the more infrared light is
emitted. There are other details to this effect that Im neglecting, but you
can check that out for yourself by looking up Black Body Radiation.
The equilibrium temperature is determined (approximately) by how much
of the light is absorbed by the object and how much is reflected. A dark-
colored object absorbs more light than a light-colored object. For
example, a black piece of paper absorbs more light than a white piece of
paper. This will cause a black piece of paper to get MUCH hotter than a
white piece of paper when placed in the Solar Death Ray.
Using some basic principles of Black Body Radiation, I estimate that the
Solar Death Ray can heat things up to between 500-600 degrees Celsius
(930-1100 degrees Fahrenheit) under good conditions. This assumes that
heat is not lost due to conduction and convection of the air around the
target, which is unlikely. As a check, paper will ignite at around 230
degrees Celsius (450 degrees Fahrenheit). Because I can routinely ignite
paper with the Solar Death Ray, I know it can heat things to at least this
temperature. The output power of the Solar Death Ray is roughly 1,000
Watts, meaning that 1,000 Watts of power can be deposited onto a
target. The time it takes to heat the target can be estimated if you know
the Heat Capacity of the target.

Sarvodaya Economic Enterprise Development Services (SEEDS) has financed the installation of around 52,000 solar home systems (SHSs) in rural areas of Sri Lanka.
Grid electricity extends to about 55% of Sri Lanka’s population, but to only 40% in rural areas. The infrastructure is gradually being extended; but there is a shortage of generating capacity, since the generation of power has not increased alongside an ever-increasing demand. The average rural family in Sri Lanka spends 19% of their income on energy, and many can afford off-grid electricity with a suitable credit system.
SEEDS works through accredited solar installers to identify potential loan customers. These loans enable poor households in rural areas to purchase SHSs, and receive the benefits of improved light, communications and entertainment. The monthly repayments are set at a rate which the household can afford to pay, and the loans are paid back over a period of one to four years. Local field officers employed by SEEDS collect monthly repayments, and also carry out checks and minor repairs to the systems. SEEDS has financed the installation of around 52,000 SHSs (out of a total of 71,000 installed in Sri Lanka) since 1998. It has also installed 13 micro-hydro schemes in rural areas and has given off-grid electricity to 370 families (comprising 1,800 people). A further 1,800 poor rural families have received loans to enable them to connect to the mains grid.

Who knows anything about star tetrahedrons? Well, that’s a six pointed star in 2D, but in 3D it’s two three-sided pyramids interlocked. Well, everything in creation has these star tetrahedrons, including human beings, and these star tetrahedrons are really, in many ways, the key, in conjunction with our DNA, the key to consciousness, the key to many things, the key to emotional balance, etc. So, surrounding the human body we have three star tetrahedrons. One of them is static, in other words it doesn’t move. These star tetrahedrons are around everybody, the length of their arms, and the top of them is a hand’s width above the head and the bottom is a hand’s width below your feet. Now, in men and women, the star tetrahedrons are orientated differently. So these star tetrahedrons, you’ve got three of them and one of them is static and in males and females they’re orientated in different ways, and two of them counter-rotate. They occupy the same space as the first one – can you imagine three star tetrahedrons occupying the same space? – and the two inside ones rotate and they counter-rotate, one rotates to the right and one rotates to the left. The one that rotates to the right is related to your emotional body and the one that rotates to the left is associated with your mental body. The fact is that in most human beings the one that’s rotating to the right is going slower than the one to the left, that’s why people are so emotional. Another thing about it is, if you make a planet radio active, like planet Earth is being made, it actually slows down the vibration of the emotional body of the beings that live on that planet so they tend to live in emotional fear and emotional chaos. One of the easy ways to get out of that is to balance the counter-rotation of your star tetrahedrons. There’s been loads and loads of ways thought up to do that over the years, but the easiest way I’ve come up with is just by visualization and affirmation. We’ll tell you as well, if you work with your star tetrahedrons and you speed up the counter-rotations faster than the speed of light, what happens is you disappear out of third dimension. You slip into another dimension of reality.
That is one of the places this term “mastery” comes from.
When we talk about these beings the Galactic Masters and the Ascended Masters, we don’t actually imply anything sexist and we don’t imply anything along the lines that they’re in charge of anything – you know, like humans are used to post masters and station masters and school masters and all these other kind of people, and having these masters affects you in your life – but what this term Master means, or what it merely implies in this situation, is that these beings have achieved self mastery. Well, achieving self mastery, or part of achieving self mastery, is to be able to work with your star tetrahedron fields, because when you accelerate your counter-rotational fields to just above the speed of light minimum, what happens is that the counter-rotating fields all lock together and you get a big flash of light out of each side of the body and that flash of light can go miles actually out each side. But what you can do is, you can utilise this light – this light is actually known as merkabah (MerKaBa)- you can utilise this light and you can utilise this star tetrahedron field, as a vehicle.

What does “Merkaba” mean?
The word Mer-Ka-Ba is made up of three smaller words: Mer, Ka and Ba. These words, as we are using them, come from ancient Egyptian. There are several pronunciations of Merkaba such as Merkabah, Merkava, and Merkavah. We generally pronounce the word with the emphasis on the second syllable: Mer-KA-ba. Others pronounce it with equal accent on each syllable such as: Mer-ka-ba.
Mer refers to a specific kind of light that was understood in Egypt during the 18th Dynasty following the reorientation of religions toward the worship of a one God of all creation. “Mer” was seen as two counter-rotating fields of light spinning in the same space. These fields are(can be) generated when a person performs specific breathing patterns. (As well as activations and/or affirmations.)
Ka refers to the individual spirit of a person.
Ba refers to the spirit’s interpretation of its particular reality. In the human reality, Ba is usually defined as the body or physical reality. In other realities where spirits don’t have bodies, Ba refers to their concepts or interpretation of reality in the realm in which they exist.
